ingrid roth comes from a small town near stuttgart, the city famous for
mercedes-benz and porsche but all she saw as a kid was farmland
and dark woods. she ran away (went to train as a teacher in berlin)
and fell into the raucous thriving 80’s punk and squat scene and
swapped history books for free living and a bass guitar.
after a couple of years of squatting in former east berlin’s broken
factory spaces she run away again, this time for post acid house
london and the still to be colonised east end. that's where & when
we met her. providing ‘bass & texture’ for a whole raft of bright and
loud not to mention short lived bands including leytonstones lost brilliant cosmic popul vuh wannabes 'Öl” as well as making crunchy electronics at the many improvised noise club nights in the back rooms of north london pubs. since then she has worked numerous jobs, broken MANY hearts, made beautiful babies that are now beautiful adults and perpetrated the seemingly mismatched personas of middle class primary school yummy mummy & lea bridge roads’s very own nico as eternally youthful earth mother.
all of this, we at FIBS towers have enjoyed, encouraged and loved being part of. her comings and goings are legend.

she rang me up a few months ago to tell me that she’d ‘had a trumpet player in’ and was making ‘ouse music’ and then proceeded to send us these 5 tracks, that realy ain't that house musicy, so ‘you can play these things to kids on drugs yea?’ obviously we said yes and asked if she’d fancy being the first release on FIBS. to make it ‘not like all the other stuff I do’ Ingrid has called herself ‘FIVE POSSIBLE WORLDS’ as the projects moniker, as opposed to previous band names like ‘SKIN VOLTAGE’ or one of my personal faves, the one night only improvised jazz death ska combo ‘CUB SCOUT BLOOD RAMPAGE’

and here we are. 5 mutant motorik, vari-speed adventures, gnarly, overdriven, clashing frequencies, sludgy drums, post 4th world brass
sequences, cut up and restitched over left leaning acid.
trip hop on devil drugs and techno fashioned by leather clad sex orcs in a dirty dark room somewhere in Kreuzberg or leyton, all overseen by a malevolent Sibylla clad in skinny denim and steel toe cap boots. Haha!! She’ll kill me for this description.
